Is Nottingham Road Hotel haunted?
South Africa Reported haunting level 4 of 5

What actually happened
The hotel's own history records the railway reaching Nottingham Road at the end of 1885 and the Railway Hotel, built for George Orwin, completed at the beginning of 1891.
The history
An inn is said to have stood on the site since 1854; the hotel has passed its centenary and remains one of the Midlands' best-known hotels.
What people report
The hotel states it is reputed to be haunted; guests and staff have reported a woman's spirit in room 10, said to be Charlotte, who by tradition threw herself from the balcony after being jilted.
That paragraph is reported tradition, not a claim about what is there. The history above it is sourced; the stories are recorded because people tell them.
