Is Fairmont Banff Springs haunted?
Canada Reported haunting level 4 of 5

What actually happened
Fire destroyed the original wooden hotel in 1926; it was rebuilt larger in its present form and reopened in 1928.
The history
Commissioned by Canadian Pacific's William Cornelius Van Horne to architect Bruce Price, the Castle in the Rockies opened in 1888 in Canada's first national park.
What people report
The hotel itself tells of Sam the bellman, a popular 1950s employee said to still help guests with doors, and of a bride who fell on the grand staircase in the late 1920s, a tale it admits has no written record.
That paragraph is reported tradition, not a claim about what is there. The history above it is sourced; the stories are recorded because people tell them.
