What actually happened
The knight Erazem of Predjama held out against an imperial siege for over a year before he was killed in 1484, betrayed by a servant while using the privy.
The history
Built into the mouth of a cave, the castle has stood for more than 800 years and is run today by Postojna Cave Park alongside the cave system.
What people report
The park's own page notes that a Discovery Channel crew reported the castle inhabited by ghosts; visitors have reported figures in the cave passages behind the walls.
